AN EXPLORATION OF TRANCE CONTROL AND PHYSICAL MEDIUMSHIP

Limited to 30 students

This is a new course for 2009 and is aimed at those students who are seriously interested in the development of trance and physical mediumship. Therefore, beginners are not invited. Before you can attend this course you must have already started your development by attending at least two trance or mental mediumship courses at this College in the last three years.

It was through the use of physical mediumship that Spiritualism was founded; mediums such as D.D. Home astonished the world with what the spirit operators could achieve. They appeared to defy the known laws of physics with the phenomena of levitation, matter passing through matter, innocuous contact with fire and many such wonders, yet where is this phenomena today?

During the week we will study the range of phenomena that has been produced in the past and will examine that, whilst in some cases it occurred spontaneously, in others it was the product of years of development. We will try to answer such questions as, what was that development process? Can we recreate that process and obtain the same results? Does physical mediumship have a place in the 21st century?

Most physical mediums were trance mediums and as this is a fact we cannot divorce the two. Therefore, we will also be examining the trance control state, its practice and development.

We will be conducting an experimental séance and there will also be a limited number of private appointments available with the tutors for trance healing, trance communication and spiritual appraisals.
