The Grounds

Stansted Hall, home of the Arthur Findlay College is set in over 36 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Much work has been carried out over the years to continually improve and enhance the vista offered from all aspects of the Stansted Hall Estate.

There are 20 acres of winter grazing meadows for the rescue horses that have retired to the College grounds. The ancient woodland designed by Humphry Repton adorn the landscape, all wrapped around 5 acres of formal gardens. The signature Repton three and a half acre lake borders the West meadow offers yet another tranquil haven for meditation and to appreciate the plentiful wildlife including kingfishers, woodpeckers and owls amongst others.

Whilst at the college, why not take time to wander in thought and peace through this landscape. Despite being close by to Stansted airport, you will have little or no idea as you indulge in the peaceful surroundings, embraced by farmland and parkland.

Take a steady walk down the path to Redwoods & The Coach House, wander into the ‘Peace Garden’ en-route and sit a while. Stroll onwards around the perimeter or through the trees. Take a walk across the main lawn to the renowned ‘Tulip Tree’ and embrace those energies of nature. Take a wander down towards the lake. There is plenty of seating all around, there is so much space, so much peace and great tranquillity to be found.

Seasonal changes will guarantee that every time you step out into the garden, there will be yet another splendid display to feast your eyes upon.
Both inside the Hall and outside let nature embrace you during your stay!
