The College is housed within a beautiful historic listed building that forms an important part of its character and heritage. As a result, some areas and facilities may not fully reflect modern accessibility standards, and alterations or improvements can only be undertaken where permitted by heritage and conservation regulations. This includes upgrades to bedrooms and other accommodation areas, which must be carried out in accordance with the building’s protected status.
We encourage anyone with specific accessibility requirements to contact us before their visit so that we can discuss their needs and advise on the facilities and support available. Our team will always do its best to help guests plan a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

While Arthur Findlay College does not hold formal accreditation or certification against any specific Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) standard, we are committed to treating all members of our community with dignity, respect, fairness and consideration.
We continually review opportunities to improve accessibility and enhance the visitor experience while preserving the unique historic character of our building for future generations.

Accessibility

Due to the historic nature of the building wheelchair/disabled access and other facilities are regrettably limited, particularly on the first and second floors, although there is a lift. However, certain bedrooms in the Clock Cottage and Courtyard have been specifically designed to ensure accessibility for all guests.

If you require disabled access or other disabled facilities please check with us before making the booking.

We aim to ensure your visit is a pleasant one and we will accept your reservation on the basis that you have informed us in writing about any disability you have, as well as other conditions such as allergies, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes amongst other conditions.

You must make us aware of any mental health reason that could make it unwise for you to stay at the College. You must tell us about any reasons that could make it unwise for you to participate in some courses, in particular altered states of consciousness (Trance).

Your safety, comfort and well-being are of paramount important to us.

It is essential that you provide full information on these aspects, if relevant to you, at the time of making your reservation or, if there are changes to your health once you have booked.

There are access points into the building that are suitable for wheelchair users. Please speak with our reception team who will give you full details in advance of your arrival so that your experience is as comfortable as possible.

Call us to discuss particular needs to make sure your visit is comfortable, we will suggest the best available solution, subject to availability.
