Toxic Teachings: The Shadow Side of Mediumship

At a time when people are seeking a 21century understanding of the spirit consciousness, we are seeing an increase in fear based antiquated teaching.

More than perhaps any other time in recent history, humankind needs the reassurance that the Spirit is present.

It is time now, however, to have adult conversations in regards to the beliefs surrounding mediumship. We need to examine their relevance in light of advances in psychology and the needs of modern society. Are the ideas of how mediumship works still ‘fit for purpose’?

In this lecture Brian and Simon will not only discuss the ‘dark side’ of mediumistic teaching, they will also give examples from their decades of work and teachings in the field.

Has modern mediumship fallen too far into the trap of commercialisation? Is the phrase ‘everyone can be a medium’ an empowerment to all or a debasement of a sacred calling?

Together we will explore what we can do as mediums to move the teachings forwards and the challenges faced by doing so.
